“The key to successful leadership today is influence, not authority.” ~ Ken Blanchard
In a world of multi-functional teams, globalization and flatter organizational structure, what it means to be a leader is shifting. You simply can’t rely on a position of power to make demands; rather you need the ability to influence others to help you achieve your goals. Influencing Without Authority will teach you how to engage others, manage interactions and best of all, shape outcomes enabling you to become a more effective manager and leader.
Leadership Foundations Certificate
There is really no such thing as a born leader. Becoming an effective leader is actually a journey defined by experience, self-awareness and personal development. Leaders need to develop and hone their abilities throughout their career–and they can begin with a leadership program.
The Leadership Foundations Certificate program is about great leadership and you. We help you understand what makes a leader great and how to incorporate that knowledge into how you lead — in a way that makes sense and is authentic to who you are and how you are.
This personal journey of learning, application and discovery focuses on what it takes for each individual to be the kind of leader, who can inspire, engage and empower others to achieve results.

Public Sector Leader Certificate Program
he Xavier University Williams College of Business, Department of Criminal Justice and the Xavier Leadership Center have partnered to create a Public Sector Leader Certificate Program (PSLCP). The Public Sector Leader Certificate Program is designed for leaders in law enforcement, public safety and city management seeking to develop the knowledge, skills and tools required to successfully lead their organizations. Additionally, participants learn how to apply these skills when they work with others during day-to-day operations, where decision-making, critical thinking, and leadership are required. This understanding is especially helpful during high-stress situations, such as active-shooter situations, fires, accidents, environmental crises, political meetings, press conferences, as well as daily internal and external issues, which require strategic planning, personnel management, and communication.
