Among academics, citations have become an important measure of impact. The purpose of this study was to examine whether cases published in Society for Case Research (SCR) journals are being cited and, to the extent cases are being cited, identify how those cases are being utilized. Theory on the role of citations in academic research, as well as research on AACSB’s measures of impact, served as the foundation for the study. The sample consisted of cases published within the three SCR journals (Business Case Journal, Journal of Case Studies, and Journal of Critical Incidents) from 2010-2021 that were written by SCR’s most prolific authors as identified by Peters and Brooks (2025). Citations were counted and analyzed for each published case. Results showed 55 unique cases had been cited, representing 106 unique citations, and the majority were cited in basic/discovery type research. Ways for case writers to increase their citations rates were also discussed.
