Executive Certificate in Financial Planning

Employee Engagement Management Skills
This program clearly defines what employee engagement is and why it matters. Participants will develop communication strategies and effective performance management practices to engage their workforce as a leader.

It takes self-awareness, self-control, empathy, influence and the ability to build collaborative relationships. We call these behaviors Emotional Intelligence. They are the personal and social competencies that differentiate star performers from average ones.
Emotional Intelligence (EI) enables you to reflect on your own behaviors, learn new skills to enhance your own leadership, identify links between EI competencies and your organizations and come away with two or three ideas for immediate application.
The Analytics Certificate prepares participants to dig deep into data to discover the secrets hidden within, apply the right quantitative techniques to solve problems and clearly communicate and tell data stories to enhance business decision-making.
The Analytics Certificate Fee is $10,000 per person. Any required textbooks, software and/or materials are additional at actual cost.

The Center for Social Entrepreneurship (CSE) Boost
The Center for Social Entrepreneurship (CSE) Boost is a 9-week social entrepreneurship course for members of an enterprise who are creatively solving social problems within Detroit and desire to become financially sustainable through entrepreneurial best practices, mentoring, and connections to resources. Applicants must be beyond ideation; that is, their enterprise must have a product or service and a beneficiary and some exchange of revenue. The application process will be followed by an interview with CSE staff members.
The overall cost for a single Boost participant is just under $3,000. Detroit Mercy Alumni and other donors have graciously provided scholarships to lower this expense to make the final tuition cost to you just $500. However, CSE strongly believes that no social entrepreneur shall be denied an opportunity to attend our Boost program. We do ask that every effort must be made by participants to pay the full price. Sliding-scale tuition scholarships are available. If needed, the applicant and CSE staff will discuss the details during the interview process.
The dates and times for Boost 5 are Tuesday nights from 6-9pm. Classes star on Tuesday hey have been one night a week for nine weeks from 6-9pm. Classes will primarily take place on the McNichols campus, at the University of Detroit Mercy, 4001 W. McNichols Rd., Detroit, MI 48221. After the class sessions, you will participate in a pitch event celebration.
