Are scholarships the best way to pay for college?
EMBRYO: The story/case will involve the perspective of scholarship-seeking students (2-3) as well as a university or college’s perspective. The students will be seeking academic, sport or needs based scholarships. The case will discuss the students’ desires for a college education, their goals for after college, and their personal backgrounds. For example, one student will have attended a school where money has been allocated to breakfast and lunch programs. Another student attends a school with numerous advanced placement classes. The college’s point of view will discuss the importance of providing an education to its community. It will also discuss the importance of a significant revenue stream to cover college expenses. The case will also mention the push to tax scholarships and some of the implications behind this.
