Roger has seen his friends recently take up sports betting, and they have been bragging about the amount of profits they are realizing. With his analytical background, Roger thinks there might be a way to predict which teams will make the MLB playoffs. With the help of his analytics professor, Dr. Bingham, Roger is taking on the task of creating a model based on a machine- learning algorithm to predict which teams will make it to the MLB postseason. However, knowing whether or not a team will make it is not enough, because the betting odds and payouts differ from team to team; hence, Roger has to compare the results of the model with the corresponding betting odds to determine if the model is profitable.
