Fr. Peter Balleis SJ, Jesuit Worldwide Learning

Fr. Balleis will discuss Jesuit Worldwide Learning, and how faculty, administrators, students and alumni can engage with higher education at the margins as a means to respond to Pope Francis’ challenging plea that we address the root causes of migration and the 65 million refugees worldwide. He will highlight JWL’s long-term collaborations with Jesuit universities including Regis, Creighton and Georgetown, as well as budding initiatives with smaller schools like Spring Hill and John Carroll, and non-Jesuit partners such as Southern New Hampshire University, Salt Lake City Community College and University of Utah. Fr. Peter will discuss the role of university liaisons and invite those interested to participate in a fall symposium.
