The purpose of this essay is to align the concept of self-leadership with the pedagogical principles of Jesuit business education, and propose a course template suitable for undergraduate students. Self-leadership is defined as the practice of consciously directing one’s thoughts, behaviors, and motivations to achieve personal and professional goals. In the context of Jesuit business schools, developing and presenting students with a self-leadership training or coaching can serve as a vital competency that not only fosters individual career success but also advances the Jesuit mission of educating ethical, reflective leaders. Rooted in values such as cura personalis (care for the whole person), magis (the pursuit of excellence), and discernment, Jesuit pedagogy emphasizes holistic development, ethical decision-making, and a commitment to social justice. By integrating self-leadership into the curriculum, this proposed course aims to cultivate self-awareness, resilience, and purpose-driven leadership among undergraduate students.
