Michael P.
Coyne’s research interests include the Critical Assessment of the Accounting Profession, Accounting/Business History and Accounting Education. He has Ph.D. from the University of Connecticut, an MBA in Finance and International Business from New York University and a B.S.in Accounting from Fairfield University. Some of the journals he has published in include Auditing: A Journal of Practice and Theory, Critical Perspectives in Accounting, International Journal of Critical Accounting, Accounting Education: An International Journal, the Journal of Business Ethics, Essays in Economics and Business History and Advances in Accounting Education. Professor Coyne has received the Dolan School of Business Excellence in Teaching Award. He has also served as an Associate Editor of Essays in Economic and Business History. Professor Coyne is a Certified Public Accountant and prior to entering academia he worked twelve years in various positions in accounting and finance.
