George Sillup

Sillup is an Associate Professor in the Pharmaceutical & Healthcare Marketing Department and Fellow in the Pedro Arrupe Center for Business Ethics and the Institute of Catholic Bioethics at Saint Joseph’s University. Prior to transitioning to academia in 2004, he worked in the diagnostic, pharmaceutical and medical device industries where he held positions from salesman to COO. He guided numerous product launches that included attaining reimbursement coverage and coding to support products in the U.S. and global markets. As a professor, Dr. Sillup emphasizes teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels and utilizes his industry experience to generate publications about different facets of healthcare delivery. His most recent forthcoming publication with colleagues is about a non-pharmacologic treatment alternative, TimeSlips™, for dementia patients in nursing homes. Dr. Sillup is currently on sabbatical to assess care in nursing homes as well as to implement alternative learning programs. A collegiate athlete, Dr. Sillup earned his undergraduate degree from the U.S. Military Academy and Wilkes University and his graduate degrees from Drexel University and the Fielding Institute. .
