Students to the Rescue

Small regional university began to experience financial difficulties due to poor mismanagement. The Covid-19 pandemic exacerbated the university’s situation. In response to the health concerns, one of the university’s instructors decided to allow students to participate in her classes through Zoom. This came to be at odds with the associate dean who wanted faculty to require students to come to class to drive up demand for student housing and meal plans, thus increasing university revenue from these sources and help in alleviating the financial pains for the university.
