Introduction to Collaborative Care for Educators & Clinicians
This course introduces the basics about interprofessional education and collaborative practice (IPECP). The course is offered in a self-paced online format with a competency-based approach. Each lesson builds on previous content.
In addition to basic IPECP terminology, participants will gain an understanding based on the four Core Competencies for Interprofessional Collaborative Practice, the basics of effective health care teamwork and how to lead an interprofessional team. You’ll learn from instructors who are experts both in IPECP and in online teaching. In addition, the course offers a flexible learning approach and can be completed anywhere, anytime.
The course offers eight (8) CMEs through Creighton University’s Health Sciences Continuing Education, which has joint accreditation from the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), the first university to receive this accreditation.
Introduction to Collaborative Care for Students
This online, self-paced course provides a basic introduction to the concepts of interprofessional education (IPE) and interprofessional collaborative practice (IPCP) for health professions students–at Creighton or other institutions. The course is designed to be .5 credits or 8 contact hours.

- Core Competencies for Interprofessional Collaborative Practice
- Roles and responsibilities of health care providers on the team
- Health care team development and dynamics
The course is integrated with cases for application and knowledge growth.
Introduction to Financial Psychology
This course is designed to develop knowledge and skills to use with individuals, families and business owners to help them meet their financial goals. This course is an introductory financial psychology course that examines the intersection between financial planning, financial coaching, and financial therapy. This course introduces students to:
- the impact of early financial experiences on money beliefs, financial behaviors, and an individual’s ability to achieve business and personal financial goals
- money disorders frequently seen by financial professionals
- techniques to establish rapport with clients
- tools to help clients change problematic/destructive money-related behaviors
- techniques to deal with client resistance to change
- tools to work with couples and families
- cognitive biases that influence investing behavior
- methods for integrating financial psychology knowledge and tools into personal financial planning

Managing Projects, Part 2: Applying the Fundamentals
Building on Managing Projects, Part 1 – Understanding the Fundamentals, Managing Projects, Part 2: Applying the Fundamentals provides the opportunity to apply various tools and techniques to plan, execute, monitor and control, and close a project via a project simulation. You will focus on practice and application. Students work in teams to approach a complex project management scenario and take a project from initiation through closing using a tailored approach that integrates the various topics covered in both courses and allows for direct application of tools and techniques.
This course incorporates the use of experiential learning including hands-on activities and group exercises to create various project documents, tools, and artifacts to achieve measurable objectives, identify and manage project scope, estimate project time and costs, manage resource requirements and assignments, determine work required and task dependencies, and monitor and control project execution.
